Temesgen Beyene Abicho, MD is a lecturer and Chief Emergency Medicine resident at Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia. His work focuses on the clinical care of acute disease and emergency care of critically ill patients. He is also currently enrolled in the Harvard Medical School Global Clinical Research Scholars Training Program. Dr. Beyene Abicho’s areas of interest include public health aspects of emergency medicine and disaster preparedness and planning involving the different hospitals located within the capital city of Addis Ababa, where he coordinated disaster drill simulations through an initiative of the Ministry of Health and School of Medicine. He is currently involved in creating media based education focusing on public health emergencies including road traffic accident preventions and pre-hospital care initiatives. Dr. Beyene Abicho also volunteers on a standing committee of public health under the Ethiopian Medical Students Association where he engages the public in WASH training activities and has recently become involved with creating media based educational materials on public health emergencies.
