Senior Gender Based Violence Manager, International Medical Corps
Samrawit holds a Masters of Public Administration from New York University. She is the Senior Gender Based Violence Manager (GBV) at International Medical Corps in Addis Abeba, Ethiopia. She has more than nine years of experience in both government and non-governmental organizations working in the field of gender and GBV in humanitarian and emergency settings. She has also worked with UMCOR as International Disaster Response Manager in Atlanta, US and also with the International Rescue Committee in different capacities toward improving the wellness of women and girls, particularly those residing in refugee camps throughout the country. Samrawit is an engaging facilitator on various topics and is a Technical Advisor with SASA!, an innovative prevention strategy aimed at ending violence against women and HIV. Samrawit consistently seeks opportunities for learning, exposure, and experience, seeking to continue her work to improve the lives of the most at-risk populations.
