São Paulo Biennial Art Exhibit Highlights Social and Racial Inequality in Brazil

The São Paulo Biennial Art Exhibit in 2014 focused, among other pressing social issues, on the marginalization of Brazil's low-income citizens of mixed-race, indigenous and/or African origins, including the oppression of indigenous people such as the Guarani. In an elite world of art that often excludes Brazil's larger population, this year's installation gave more visibility to neglected communities.
