Conservative Nostalgia for Brazil's Military Dictatorship
Brazil presidential potential Bolsonaro and other conservative politicians in the country are wishful of a return to military rule, seemingly prefering right-wing dictatorship to a democratic government run by the left. It might be that their supporters miss the security and order the military provided them during its rule. However, others might argue that what conservative forces miss is a time when elites faced few challenges and minorities and the poor were left at the margins of political participation.
