LADAMA Performance/Workshop

Monday, January 30, 2017

4:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.

Grant Recital Hall

LADAMA is a music ensemble comprised of five musicians from across the Americas who strive to engage youth and other women in their respective communities in the process of music-making, sound design, composition, and audio production.

This event will feature:

- Introduction to the LADAMA project/ensemble and their professional lives in their respective cities

- Body percussion workshop (no experience necessary, percussion provided) with Colombian bullerengue and Brazilian Baião

- Participitory performance

Drums will not be required but please feel free to bring your own hand drums and/or other percussion. Our workshops are super inclusive and tailored to people who don't play music as well. If there are more advanced musicians in the room they will be given instruction to meet their level. We will be bringing a bag of percussion. We hope that everyone can participate!
