Muhammad Habib, visiting assistant professor of Arabic at Claremont McKenna College, will offer a workshop on Arabic calligraphy.
Muhammad Habib received two B.A. degrees from Al-Azhar University, one in Islamic studies and education and the other in Arabic language and linguistics. He also received his M.A. and Ph.D. in Arabic Linguistics at Al- Azhar Universtiy, Egypt. His research interests include Arabic linguistics, syntax, and morphology. He has studied the art of Arabic calligraphy at the Calligraphy Institute in Cairo. He has taught at the American University in Cairo, Duke University Middlebury College, California Lutheran University, Mount St. Mary’s College, California State University Channel Islands. Currently, he’s a Visiting Assistant Professor of Arabic at Claremont McKenna College.
