Come out to support your fellow DS students!
April 28-29, 2016
(1) This is NOT an exhaustive list. This means that if you find a class that you think is DS-related and it is not here, it doesn’t mean that you can’t take it as an elective or regional course. It only means you need my formal approval.
(2) This list is likely to change in the next couple of weeks as courses are added or dropped (or as I learn of courses I should have added) – so we will send you a follow up email soon with a new list.
(3) As for core classes, there is an important modification this year. Normally, you are required to choose two of three core classes (SOC1620, POLS1240 and ANTH0110). SOC1620 and POLS1240, however, will not be offered next year. ANTH0110 is offered, as usual. Instead of POLS1240, students can take either POLS1280 (Politics, Economy and Society in India) OR POLS1440 (Security, Governance and Development in Africa).
The DS DUG is an organization led by undergraduate DS concentrators serving the dual purpose of organizing DS-related campus-wide events and advocating for increased university resources to continue the expansion of the DS program.
