A Half-Century of Comparative International Development

Brown is the home of Studies in Comparative International Development (SCID), which has been one of the world’s premier development studies journals for 50 years.

On Friday, October 30th the SCID Editorial Board, will host an interdisciplinary conference in the Joukowsky Forum at the Watson Institute.

Organized by current editor Barbara Stallings of the Watson Institute and former editor Ruth Collier of the University of California Berkeley, the conference will feature reflections on the evolution of Studies in Comparative International Development over the course of the last 50 years by some of journals most distinguished contributors, including Sarah Babb of Boston College, Brown’s Nitsan Chorev, Cornell’s Kenneth Roberts, Harvard’s Dani Rodrik and Oxford’s Frances Stewart.
