Mohsen Namjoo Concert Sold-Out Success

Saturday, December 7, 2013

7 p.m. – 9 p.m.

Granoff Center for the Creative Arts, 154 Angell Street

Iranian artist Mohsen Namjoo gave an electrifying performance to an enthralled audience at the Granoff Center for the Creative Arts on December 7th at 7:00 p.m.  Namjoo’s unique style of music demonstrates a range of influences, from blues and rock to Iranian folk music. The lyrics of his songs are also odd combination of Persian classical poems, his own lyrics, and contemporary poetry. Namjoo endows the words with irony and sarcasm to carry the music and provide a sense of free style through his singing. The sold-out concert was attended by students, community members, and visitors from Providence to Boston and beyond!

Hailed as “the Bob Dylan of Iran” by the New York Times, Mohsen Namjoo is a visionary artist who speaks for and touches the souls of today’s youth. Seamlessly blending the Classical with the Modern, the ancient with the current, Mohsen Namjoo is a true musical maverick.
