Vigil in Memory of Chapel Hill Students

February 13, 2015

Dear Colleagues, Students, and Friends of Middle East Studies at Brown University,
The murder of the students Deah Shaddy Barakat, Yusor Abu Salha, and Razan Abu Salha in Chapel Hill has deeply impacted many members of our Brown community. I am writing to inform you that a vigil will be held tonight at 6:30 PM in the Main Green in memory of the victims. The vigil, organized by the Brown Muslim Student Association, will be followed by a gathering at J. Walter Watson, room 411.

I hope to see many of you this evening as we come together as a community to honor these extraordinary young people whose lives were tragically cut short.

Beshara Doumani,
Director, Middle East Studies
