Eligibility

Brown Middle East Studies announces the second year of its Undergraduate Award Program for research in Middle East Studies. Awards will be granted in two cycles: a Winter cycle awarded in December 2014, and a Spring cycle awarded in March 2015. This program is for Brown undergraduate students with a declared concentration in Middle East Studies only. Priority will be given to students using the funds towards research for the senior Capstone or Honors Thesis, but is open to all concentrators.

This year, Brown Middle East Studies is also awarding graduate students conducting research in Middle East Studies. The same conditions apply.

Funding

Grants for undergraduates are available for up to $600 ($800 for graduate students) to defray the cost of transportation for  research projects that focus on Middle East-related topics. Please note that all grants will be paid as reimbursements upon completion of travel. Grantees will be required to provide detailed travel documentation in order to receive reimbursement. Travel is not limited to the Middle East.
