MES announces research travel awards recipients

Three undergraduate students and one graduate student received Research Travel Award this spring. 

Frishta Qaderi (2020) received funding for summer research at the American University of Central Asia in Kyrgyzstan, where she will take Russian and Tajik (Persian) language courses and conduct site visits.

Sophie Kasakove (2017.5) received funding for archival research, site visits, and oral interviews in London, Oxford, and Israel. 

Katherine Chu (2018) received funding to conduct archival research in London for her thesis, which examines missionary activities in Egypt and Sudan during the interwar period.

Anthropology graduate student Samee Sulaiman received funding for ethnographic research in Lebanon and for language training at Georgetown University.
