Faculty Fellow earns distinguished award for recent book

David Kertzer's recent book "The Pope and Mussolini: The Secret History of Pius XI and the Rise of Fascism in Europe" has received the Helen and Howard R. Marraro Prize of the American Historical Association, awarded to the best book of the year in Italian history of any period.

Kertzer is a Watson faculty fellow, Paul Dupee University Professor of Social Science, and Professor of Anthropology and Italian Studies.
