Marcus worked at the U.S. Department of State on immigration-related projects and spent several months in the consular section at the U.S. Embassy in Beijing. Marcus has a finance background, studying at EDHEC Business School in France where he subsequently worked in private-sector consulting on restructuring and divestment projects. Marcus earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Virginia where he pursued a liberal arts education in Spanish and French. He is also fluent in Spanish and French. Marcus is a dual French-American citizen and has lived in China, Denmark, France, Germany and Spain.
