Working on nuclear disaster and community inclusion planning for a community of 1.3 million people, Omar recently served as an emergency preparedness and response specialist at Tri-County Health Department in Greenwood Village, Colorado. His work with the health department was his first experience in helping vulnerable communities, which served as the spark for pursuing a MPA. Omar graduated with a Master of Public Health from the University of Colorado where he also received his bachelor's degree. Originally from California, Omar has lived in the US, Caribbean, and Pakistan. He is fluent in Urdu. His skill set also includes proficiency in Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
