Public Policy Undergrads Have Live Web Class with Chinese Students

January 6, 2012

On December 1, Adjunct Professor of Public Policy Geri Augusto’s senior seminar, Science and Technology Policy in the Global South (PPAI-1701G), held a live web conference with a corresponding class at Tsinghua University, School of Public Policy and Management, taught by Professor Zhou Yang. The theme of the cooperative class was national systems of innovation, an important topic in both classes. The conference was made possible by a course development award from the Office of International Affairs. Augusto set up the web conference with the assistance of Kelly Mengjie Wang ’14.  For the past three years, Augusto’s class has had live electronic conversations with students in Salvador da Bahia, Brazil and blog discussions with a class in Kolkata, India. This year’s collaboration was the first with China.
