Dr. Aisha Azhar, a Fulbright Scholar, has completed her PhD and master's degrees in Public Administration & Policy from Florida State University (FSU), Florida, USA. Her dissertation was funded by the Emergency Management and Homeland Security Program, FSU, USA. She is currently working as assistant professor at School of Governance and Society at University of Management and Technology, Pakistan. She is the patron of the Disaster Management Society (DMS) at the UCP. She attended BIARI 2017 (USA) for the Humanitarian Response and Post-Conflict Reconstruction at Brown University, USA. Dr Azhar has partnered with major national, international and nonprofit organizations involved in disaster management in Pakistan to establish a Disaster Resilience Department in a university setting. She had undertaken several funded projects, including Women empowerment project in Ghazi, funded by USAID, State Department of USA, and Public Administration education system in Pakistan funded by Agha Khan University. Currently, she is working to explore the evidence-based relief distribution mechanisms in disaster prone areas in Pakistan. Dr. Azhar has published several research papers in national and international journals.
