Brown Study Reexamines Deforestation and Agriculture in Mato Grosso

A new high-tech Brown study explores the relationship between agricultural practices and deforestation in Mato Grosso, suggesting that the decrease in deforestation rates in the region stems more from a decline in arable and fertile land in the conserved parts of the forest than from government policy.
