Strengthening Partnerships and Capacities of National Actors North Darfur State

Funded through the HI² Training Seed Grant Program, this one-day roundtable discussion in North Darfur State, Sudan will focus on Strengthening Partnerships and Capacities of National Actors. It will target 16 policy makers and programmers, specifically 8 people from 4 line ministries (finance, health, social affairs and agriculture) and 8 others from the most active national NGOs in North Darfur State. The selection will be carried out in consultation with the North Darfur’s Humanitarian Aid Commission (HAC) and Director Generals (DGs) of the nominated line ministries. 

The event will be a participatory and instructive roundtable discussion with the primary objective of raising awareness as well as strengthening the national capacities (local NGOs and national institutions) to better understand and manage crises and become more resilient to shocks. It will also aim to motivate national partners to take on influential functions in the implementation of durable solutions for displaced persons. Transitioning from purely saving lives towards recovery and long term development programming. The event will be facilitated by two specialized resource persons with rich experiences on recovery and development oriented programmes, one is a former professor at University of El Fasher and another is the focal person for the HAC’s return and recovery section. It is scheduled to run in early March, 2018.
