FDA grants EUA to convalescent plasma as an outpatient treatment for COVID-19
"It reduces hospitalizations by more than 50 percent in patients who got the treatment within their first eight days of illness," said Dr. Adam Levine, emergency medicine physician at Rhode Island Hospital, who served as principal investigator locally enrolling nearly 70 of the almost 1,200 patients in the study at 24 sites nationwide.
