Student Assistant, Center for Human Rights and Humanitarian Studies
Layla Beckhardt is a Student Assistant for the Center for Human Rights and Humanitarian Studies at the Watson Institute for International and Public Affairs. She is currently a senior studying International Relations with a regional focus in North Africa, and recently returned to Brown after a semester studying in Berlin. On campus, Layla is a research assistant for Professor Alexander Winder in the Middle Eastern Studies department and has spent the last two years developing an independent research project to address landslides in the Rohingya refugee camps of Bangladesh. She is also on the Operations Board of Brown University TinkKnit, where she spends her free time knitting!
