Vibhavendra Singh Raghuvanshi

Dr. Raghuvanshi is a practicing public health expert, a medical doctor and a UN professional, of more than two decades of experience. Prior to his current affiliation, he worked with UNICEF, a few international charities and academia in different countries across four continents. He holds a MPH in International Health from Harvard University, USA and MD and MBBS from India. Currently, he is working with UNFPA as Technical Specialist Maternal Health and Family Planning, based in Harare, Zimbabwe. Dr. Raghuvanshi leads and manages Family Planning, Commodity Security and H4+/H6, a joint, integrated UN wide Reproductive, Maternal, Neonatal, Child and Adolescent Health (RMNCAH) programme. I am the national FP2020 and H6 Coordinator in Zimbabwe. He represents UNFPA in many strategic national groups like SDG task force, health development forum platform, national medical commodity security to name a few.

Dr. Raghuvanshi's interests are in public health management and systems strengthening. He focuses on building linkages to improve programme synergy. His recent achievements include revitalizing H6 and national FP programme in Zimbabwe, especially by drawing on the principles of human rights, integration, gender equality and data for development. He facilitated strengthening of national procurement and supply chain systems by developing coordination mechanisms, pooling resources, building accountability and improving real time data availability and usage. H6 took key RMNCAH interventions to 11% unreached population in some remotest districts of Zimbabwe. FP programme registered expansion of method mix and 89% demand satisfied. The stock out rates, for example of contraceptives, remained below 10% at facilities.
