Join CareerLAB, The Nelson Center for Entrepreneurship, and The Climate Solutions Lab as we host alumni for a panel about entrepreneurship and start ups within the climate space and what it takes to pivot climate work in this direction. There will be time for Q+A.

Sophie Purdom ’16, Climate Tech VC, Co-founder & Editor

Sophie Purdom is a sustainable business practitioner; first at the Brown University endowment, followed by a few years decking at Bain & Co., published a book on ESG along the way, and founded an agtech venture (Kula Bio, raised +$65m). She now writes Climate Tech VC (20,000+ newsletter readers) and is building something new while investing in early stage climate technology companies.

Dana Clare Redden EMBA’19, Founder, Solar Stewards

Celebrating well over a decade in the solar industry, Dana Clare Redden is a passionate solar energy professional dedicated to the development of distributed generation solar globally. She is the founder of Solar Stewards, a social enterprise connecting corporate social responsibility initiatives with marginalized communities. Dana holds a Bachelors of Science degree from Drexel University as well as an Executive MBA from IE Business School and Brown University. She is among GRIST Magazine’s 2021 50 Fixers, a two-time judge at the DOE/NREL Solar District Cup, a co-founder of BOSS: Black Owners of Solar Services, an inaugural American Council of Renewable Energy (ACORE) Accelerate member, and serves on the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) board of directors.

D.R. Richardson ’08, Founder at Elephant Energy

DR is a co-founder of Elephant Energy. We make home electrification and comfort upgrades easy, affordable, and transparent. He spent 2 years with Community Energy (now a part of AES), a renewable energy developer, where he focused on strategic initiatives. Before that, DR spent a decade building Vision Ridge Partners, a $2.5B private equity investor focused on the Energy Transition. Prior, DR was a consultant with Altman Vilandrie & Company, a boutique tech and telecom strategy consultancy. DR graduated Brown ’08 with a degree in Political Science.
