8:00am – 5:00pm
Physicians for Human Rights (PHR) is hosting its National Student Conference at the Alpert Medical School from November 7-8, 2014.
The keynote speech features Doctor Arash Alaei and Doctor Kamiar Alae, two doctors from Iran who were incarcerated for their work in researching AIDS and advocating HIV/AIDS patients. In part because of PHR's efforts, they were released. Additional panels will address topics such as medical neutrality in Syria, gender violence in conflict zones, and torture/health care in prisons. Students will share research and work they have done on human rights/global health/social justice in a poster presentation.
Register online before November 1 (No fee for Brown students).
