Research & Writing Intern for Choices Program

February 21, 2017

The Research and Writing Internship provides an opportunity for a recent college graduate to spend one year as a full time paid member of the Choices Program curriculum development team researching and writing curriculum units and other print and digital educational resources for the secondary level. Choices’ resources engage students in critical analysis and collaborative discussion of contested issues—past and present. Working on the curriculum team, the Research and Writing Intern meets with scholars at Brown and beyond to discuss content needs for curriculum resources, conducts research and reviews relevant literature, works with the curriculum team to sort through what is important for secondary school students to understand in order to wrestle with competing perspectives, and writes and edits materials that will be engaging for the secondary school classroom. This is an entry-level position for a recent college graduate.
