The Center for Arabic Study Abroad (CASA) offers advanced level training in Arabic language and culture to qualified American students at The American University in Cairo and Qasid Arabic Institute in Amman (pending the security and funding for each location). Applicants to the CASA programs must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents and should have a minimum of 3 years of formal instruction in Arabic prior to joining CASA.
The CASA I fellowships provide intensive language and culture training in Modern Standard Arabic and Colloquial for two semesters (fall and spring) in Amman and three semesters (summer, fall, spring) in Cairo. The spring semester will allow students to take content courses in Arabic in their respective areas of specialization. The application requires that all applicants take the ACTFL exam for Reading, Listening and Writing (unless they have official scores that are still valid).
Application deadline is January 9, 2019
International Exams will be proctored on February 6, 2019
Stateside Exams will be proctored on February 8, 2019
