Meltem Toksöz

Meltem Toksöz is a visiting associate professor in Middle East studies and history at Brown University. In ten short videos for the Choices Program, she discusses the Kurds, sectarianism, and misunderstandings about Syria, as well as French colonial rule and its legacies. The series will make a great addition to the Choices Program’s forthcoming curriculum unit, The Syrian Civil War. Professors Meltem Toksoz and Faiz Ahmed served as faculty reviewers for the curriculum publication. Graduate students in the department of History, Julia Gettle and Joseph Leidy, served as content advisors. All four played an integral role in the creation of the curriculum.
