Witness to Marvels

Tony K. Stewart's Witness to Marvels: Sufism and Literary Imagination (University of California Press, 2019) is awarded the Ananda Kentish Coomaraswamy Book Prize. This is the second book in the Islamic Humanities series in partnership with the University of California Press’s Luminos program. The series editor is Shahzad Bashir, Aga Khan Professor of Islamic Humanities at Brown University. The first book in the series, Forging the Ideal Educated Girl: The Production of Desirable Subjects in Muslim South Asiareceived two prizes (Michael Harrington Award 2019, Society for the Study of Social Problems; and Jackie Kirk Outstanding Book Award 2019, Comparative and International Education Society). The third book, God's Property: Islam, Charity, and the Modern State by Nada Moumtaz, will be coming out in April 2021.
