Professor Elias Muhanna Wins the 2022 John Nicholas Brown Prize

Elias Muhanna, an associate professor of Comparative Literature and History, was awarded the 2022 John Nicholas Brown Prize for his monograph, The World in a Book: Al-Nuwayri and the Islamic Encyclopedic Tradition (Princeton University Press, 2018). 

The John Nicholas Brown Prize was established by the Medieval Academy of America in 1978. It is awarded annually for a first book or monograph on a medieval subject considered by the selection committee to be of "outstanding quality."
