CMES Research Travel Awards

The Center for Middle East Studies' research travel awards are grants available to undergraduate and graduate students. The award is intended to defray some of the costs of transportation or training for research projects focused on the Middle East. 

Deadline for the summer cycle is April 4, 2023, 4:00 p.m. EST.

Details and application are to be found on the CMES website here. 

  • Up to $1,500 in individual funding is available to graduate students 
  • Up to $1,000 in individual funding is available to Middle East Studies undergraduate concentrators 

Priority will be given to Middle East Studies concentrators using the funds towards developing their research project for the senior Capstone or Honors Thesis. Undergraduate students in concentrations other than Middle East studies but with Middle East-related research will be considered. 

Preference will be given to someone who is applying for the first time.
