Mara Kessler ‘23.5 is a senior concentrating in Middle East Studies. She will use her travel award funding to carry out research for her senior capstone in Amman, Jordan, where she will also be interning for Arab Reporters for Investigative Journalism. Her capstone project seeks to explore the role and status of independent, investigative journalism and fact-checking as powerful tools of social and political change across the Arab world.
