Samia Al-Nagar

Independent Researcher

Samia Al-Nagar worked as a part-time lecturer at the Regional Institute for Gender, Diversity Peace, and Rights (RIGDPR) and the Ahfad University for Women during 1996-2019. Since 2011, she has been the lead researcher in a collaborative project with Chr. Michelsen Institute (CMI), Norway. Al-Nagar has published extensively on women and conflict in Sudan, women’s rights reform in Sudan, and the women’s movement in Sudan. She wrote papers on critical issues such as FGM, GBV, child marriage, and abortion. As a Sudanese national, she is active in MANSAM, a Feminists' Coalition, established in the wake of the Sudanese revolution in 2018.
