Awakening Giants, Feet of Clay: Comparing Economic Rise of China and India
The 2010 Bernard I. Fain Lectire in Economics will be held on Friday, May 7, at the Salomon Center Room 001, from 6:00-7:30 pm. Our speaker this year is Pranab Bardhan, Professor of Economics at the University of California, Berkeley. Bardhan’s Fain Lecture shares its title with his new book, Awakening Giants, Feet of Clay: A Comparative Economic Assessment of the Rise of China and India. During his visit to Brown, he will also be the keynote speaker at a conference on India sponsored by the Watson Institute and Brown’s 2009-10 Year of India. The Watson Institute and Year of India will co-sponsor Bardhan’s Fain Lecture.
