Brown's International Writers Project will sponsor an afternoon performance of traditional Cambodian poetry recital, or 'smot,' by performer Sreypov Phoeun, on September 29 at 3 p.m. in the McCormack Family Theater, 70 Brown St. Cambodian poetry recital is an ancient and complex method of reciting Khmer and Pali literature orginating in Buddhist temples that was nearly extinguished during the reign of the Khmer Rouge. This event is free and open to the public; all welcome.
