Alex Gourevitch ─ Quitting Work but Not the Job: Freedom and the Right to Strike - THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED.

Wednesday, November 5, 2014

12 p.m.

Birkelund Board Room

Lunch will be provided at 11:45

This Labor Seminar will be presented by Alex Gourevitch, Assistant Professor of Political Science, Brown University

The Labor Seminar is an interdisciplinary speaker series on all issues related to work. Over the course of this year we will bring economists, philosophers, labor lawyers, anthropologists, sociologists, historians and scholars from other fields to speak on their area of expertise. They will present on topics like slavery, migrant labor, the right to strike, the history of labor rights and civil liberties, and more. Speakers are asked to tailor their work to the interdisciplinary audience in attendance. All papers will be pre-circulated and presentations will be very brief so that there is plenty of time for discussion. There will be one presenter per month, during lunch, and each meeting will run for one hour.
