Mine Eder ─ Understanding AKP's Political Success: Turkey's New Political Economy and Beyond

Thursday, September 11, 2014

12 p.m.

McKinney Conference Room

Lunch will be provided and served at 11:45.

Mine Eder is affiliated with the Department of Political Science and International Relations at Boğaziçi University, İstanbul.  She will be in residence at Brown September 8-12 as part of an exchange between Bogacizi University and Brown University.

In this seminar, the case of Turkey and AKP provide an excellent laboratory for studying/discussing both the side effects of politically rewarding, “growth at any cost” strategies on the economic front, as well as the perils of all powerful, unaccountable, majoritarian governments.
