This China Initiative seminar will be presented by Troels Beltoft, Managing Partner, Beltoft & Company
Prior to starting his own consulting firm, the speaker had many years of experience as a China-based senior executive in the wind turbine manufacturing industry. The talk will provide on-the-ground perspectives on the drivers of China's market for renewable energy technology, as well as a detailed account of what it's like to manage China-based manufacturing in this area. How do Chinese regulators interact with manufacturing firms? What is the nature of competition between Chinese indigenous firms and multinationals? What types of intellectual property can be lost in the Chinese market, and what types can be gained? If the ultimate goal is to encourage greater uptake of sustainable energy technologies, what can be learned from the experience of the industrial producer?
