A discussion with Peace Corps Regional Recruiter Kathryn Fidler and U.S. Department of State Diplomat in Residence Mary Beth Leonard about paths to becoming a Peace Corps Volunteer or a U.S. Foreign Service Officer, Specialist, and Civil Service professional with the Department of State. Peace Corps service is a unique opportunity to make a difference in a community overseas while gaining personal and professional benefits, including building the personal qualities the Foreign Service emphasizes in its recruitment process as well as preferential access to Civil Service opportunities.
