Getting Started: An Alumni Film Showcase
"Getting Started" brings to campus Brown alumni who are pursuing socially engaged documentary work through different career paths. Beginning with a Wednesday evening screening of Brian Palmer's Iraq War documentary feature Full Disclosure (2009), this event continues through Thursday with a keynote address by Brian Palmer, and screenings and presentations from young alumni. As interest in multi-media story-telling, engaged scholarship and documentary work flourishes on campus, we have asked the participants “what would it have helped you, as an undergraduate, to hear from a recent graduate about getting started in film-making beyond Brown?” The event is open to the public.
