Information Session on U.S. Department of State Student Internship Program

Throughout the year, the U.S. Department of State offers up to 1,000 internships at diplomatic facilities around the world, at its headquarters in Washington DC, in New York City, and other facilities in cities throughout the United States.

Application deadline for Summer 2016 internships is October 16. If you are interested in this exciting opportunity, be sure to attend this information session at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, September 17, in the Joukowsky Forum at the Watson Institute for International and Public Affairs.

The session will be led by Recruitment and Outreach Officer Jim Ellickson-Brown, who will provide a comprehensive overview of the internship program and advice on preparing a competitive application. In addition, Brown students who previously had State internships in DC and abroad will participate.

* Bernadette Stadler ’17 was the intern in the Political/Economic section of the US Embassy in Riga

* Kimberley Charles ’16 was the legal intern in the Office of Global Criminal Justice (J/GCJ), which is in the Under Secretary for Civilian Security, Democracy, and Human Rights.
