Hispanics are a big part of the debate in this year's Presidential election. Two Republican candidates are of Cuban descent while immigration has been at the center of the debate in both parties. With the primaries in Florida fast approaching, and after a Super Tuesday that left Republican Donald J. Trump leading the polls for his party, this roundtable discussion will explore what is at stake for Hispanics in this election, the political future of this thriving community, and the ways in which Democrats and Republicans are both competing for Hispanic support.
The roundtable discussion includes journalist Daniel Denvir (Salon Magazine), Professor of Political Science Heather Silber Mohamed (Clark University), and political activist and professor Domingo Morel (Wellesley College). Felipe Martínez-Pinzón (Hispanics Studies, Brown University) will moderate.
