Smith Buonanno 106

Registration required, register here.

This is the next workshop in the Swearer Center series, What Now: Community Activism for Impact in the New Political Age. How do politics work locally in Rhode Island vs. federally? What are the key issues facing the Ocean State (immigration, education, voting access), and how could changes in the federal government impact these issues? This panel discussion will engage students with local leaders to learn more about RI’s political climate and understand federal vs. local reach. Confirmed speakers are Rep. Shelby Maldando (D, Central Falls); Gonzalo Cuervo, Chief of State for the RI Secretary of State; and Nicole Pollock, Chief of Staff for Providence Mayor Jorge Elorza. Moderated by Scott Warren ’09, co-founder of Generation Citizen and Swearer Center Social Entrepreneur in Residence.

Co-sponsored by the Watson Institute and by Generation Citizen.
