Joukowsky Forum
Join Professors Wendy Schiller and Ashutosh Varshney as they discuss the rise of populism.
Professor Schiller will analyze the first five weeks of the Trump administration and reflect on what it tells us about the differences between campaigning and governing, as well as the nature of checks and balances in the American democracy.
Professor Varshney will distinguish between two kinds of populism by drawing examples from different parts of the world: left and right. He will also examine the consequences of populism for global order.
Co-sponsored by the Political Science, International Relations, and Public Policy DUGs.
