José Sejo was born in San José de Ocoa, Dominican Republic, in 1960. He studied Plastic Arts at the National School of Fine Arts, Santo Domingo, and the Arts Department of the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD). He has participated in several workshops among which stand out: serigraphy, ceramics, restoration of altarpieces and sculptures, creativity, and the design and illustration of children's texts. He is a member of the Dominican College of Plastic Artists (CODAP) and also belongs to the International Association of Plastic Artists (AIAP), affiliated with UNESCO. Now working for the Ministry of Culture of the Dominican Republic, he is considered among the artists of the Generation of the 80's.
