Rhode Island has welcomed between 150 and 350 refugees every year for the past 25 years from areas such as Burundi, Nepal, Iraq, Syria, Somalia, and many other countries. About half are children.
As the director of the Refugee Health Clinic at the Hasbro Children’s Hospital, Dr. Carol T. Lewis oversees the provision of initial physical exams and follow-up care to these young members of Rhode Island’s diverse community.
Hosted by the Brown Institute for Policy.
