LatinXpression is an engrossing loan exhibition featuring nine Latinx artists who live and work in Rhode Island, Los Angeles, and New York. It concentrates on a range of two-dimensional works in black and white as well as color that offer a strong sense of line’s absorbing nature. The drawn or painted line, whose nature is as absorbing for the artist-maker as for the viewer, articulates both abstract and representational subject matter. It resonates with natural history, visual-culture traditions, hip hop culture, and idiosyncratic personal memory.

The exhibition comprises works by Carolina Arentsen, Andrea Pérez Bessin, Nilton Cardenas, Patricia Cazorla, Nancy Saleme, Patricia Figueroa, Wayne Alaniz Healy, Evans Molina, and Joel Rosario Tapia, as well as specimens generously loaned by the Edna Lawrence Nature Lab at the Rhode Island School of Design.

LatinXpressiones una fascinante exposición de préstamos con nueve artistas Latinos que viven y trabajan en Rhode Island, Los Ángeles y Nueva York. Se concentra en una gama de trabajos bidimensionales en blanco y negro, así como en colores que ofrecen un fuerte sentido de la naturaleza absorbente de la línea. La línea dibujada o pintada, cuya naturaleza es tan absorbente para el creador del artista como para el espectador, articula tanto el tema abstracto como el representativo. 

Resuena con la historia natural, las tradiciones de cultura visual, la cultura hip hop y la memoria personal idiosincrásica.
