Syrian Eyes of the World is an international collective of Syrian photographers. Through their own experiences of migration, diaspora, displacement, and emplacement the Syrian photographers who comprise the collective work together to create intimate portraits of Syrians across the world. Their portraits demonstrate the political as the personal and focus on the diverse perspectives of Syrians, who in the wake of the 2015 exodus, are reimagining and redefining their lives, cultures, stories, dreams, and aspirations.
Please join us for the opening reception on April 30 at 5pm and an artist talk with founding photographer, Youssef Shoufan, on May 1 at 1:00pm.
For more information please contact curator Sherena Razek, PhD student in Modern Culture and Media (sherena_razek@brown.edu).
