This informal talk with Watson Senior Fellow Tony Levitas will touch upon the headlines, the war in Donbas, and the character of the new Zelensky Government in Post-Maiden Ukraine. But the talk will focus on Ukraine's continued attempt to restructure the basic architecture of its public sector. Tony will discuss on-going efforts to create a single payer health care system; the decentralization of pre-university education to cities and towns; and his work trying to help the Ministries of Finance and Regional Development develop and implement a new system of fiscal equalization on the eve of the amalgamation of 12,000 villages into 1,500 new townships.

Professor Linda Cook of the Political Science and Slavic Studies Departments will lead what is hoped to be a lively discussion.
