The overturning of Roe vs. Wade illustrates the limitations of reproductive and wider gender-based rights in the U.S. Denying women the right to and choice of abortion, that is, denying them their bodily autonomy, is part of a larger global struggle for control and domination by authoritarian regimes and extreme right-wing political groups. This session will address the struggles as well as strategies for mobilization in Latin America, the Caribbean and the Middle East.
