This talk presents an analysis of how migrants from the Middle East and West Africa experiment with everyday solidarities in Istanbul. Tracing the nature of interactions in a bus trip that Dr. Pınar took twice a week for about a year from central Şişli to the peripheral Esenyurt district of Istanbul during her ethnographic Ph.D. research, the talk explores how migrants invent creative ways to go about their mobility and livelihood projects despite their legally and economically constrained positions in contemporary Turkey.
